Black stalks elusive Franken

Eric Black, writing at his new(er) environs Eric Black Ink, asks some tough questions of reclusive Senate candidate Al Franken.  Mr. Franken’s unwillingness to answer such questions could prove problematic with a DFL base eager to see the United States defeated in Iraq.

While the questions a predicated on a distinctive anti-war perspective, Black asks some questions that should be asked of any candidate for federal office.  Every such office-seeker should agree to answer questions about their willingness to surrender the national sovereignty of the United States to international entities.  A readiness to do so would be a signal that, if elected, that official would not be faithful to their constitutional oath.

Why did you trust Powell and not Blix?  When is it necessary for the U.S. to have U.N. backing for a war?

Fabulous questions.  The disturbing problem is that for large swaths of today’s Democrat Party, the U.N. trumps the U.S.
