House fails to override SCHIP veto
|
The US House just voted, and failed, to override the President’s veto of the SCHIP expansion. The vote was 273-156. In the Minnesota delegation, voting yes (i.e. for turning a program that started out for poor children into a program for middle class kids and adults) were McCollum, Oberstar, Ellison, Peterson, Walz, and AHEM, Ramstad. Voting no (i.e. for remembering the “C” was for Children and keeping the program as intended and not as a backdoor step towards national health care) were Bachmann and Kline. Cap’n Ed kept a running log of the debate, as did Michelle Malkin. |
