I voted
|
I voted today in the primaries. Norm Coleman and Michele Bachmann can each count one in their column. Also voted for a couple of MN SC justices. In the large scheme of things, it may not matter much. Coleman and Bachmann are not exactly in tight primary races. But, is there anything more American than these little stones that make up the grand, messy mosiac of the way we govern ourselves? The election volunteers there, and they greatly outnumbered the people voting in my polling place at the time I went, were from the community. They weren’t jackbooted government automatons sent to ensure Peace And Tranquility and Right-Thinking. Just folks taking care of their own business. Just as it should be. |

I was voter #14 as of about 7:20 and my wife said that number was at 40 by 8:50 this morning.
I may be wrong, but I suspect the primary turnout may be a bit higher than normal throughout Richfield. This is all due to the city council races.
Richfield as three wards and each is up for re-election. Two of the council members did not run for re-election so these wards have heavily contested races with FOUR in my ward (#1) and SIX people running in ward #3, the east side of Richfield. Yes, 10 people vying for two spots.
I supported Senator Coleman and Barb Davis White along with Kevin Davy for my city council seat. So, unlike most, I will anxiously be watching for results tonight.
I was happy to “cast my stone” this morning.

I have nothing to add to this conversation. I only want to try out my new Gravatar.
Society says I shouldn’t have such an avatar but I am angry. I wear short-sleeve shirts over long-sleeve shirts.

Gary did not want to confess he voted for someone named Pricilla.
