What step comes after lying?
|
When dealing with grief, the Kubler-Ross model tells us that humans go through these 5 stages: Denial, Anger, Barganing, Depression, Acceptance. Is there a political campaign equivalent? For the Obama campaign, I think they’ve gone through: Hope, Change, Condesention, Mockery, trying Change again, Threats, and now Lying. Steam Valve has already highlighted an effort by the Obama campaign to have the NRA’s TV ads taken off the air by threatening stations with having their licenses revoked if they air the ads. Now it’s not just the Obama campaign leveling thse threats as the DNC is asking people to sign similar petitions. Here’s a portion of the body of the DNC’s pre-written form e-mail. Emphasis mine:
Have they no shame? Time and again? Name one pro-gun vote Obama has ever made. One. Right “created” by the Constitution? How about guaranteed by the Constitution? The ads the NRA is running have nothing to do about Barack’s position on “illegal guns”. You can watch them all here. The NRA ads focus on Obama’s anti-gun positions and votes taken in the Illinois legislature and as a senator. It seems when Obama wasn’t voting “present”, he was voting against gun owners. The gun issue defetaed Gore in 2000, it helped defeat Kerry in 2004, and you could at least picture those guys holding a gun and knowing what it’s about. Obama has absolutely know knowledge or appreciation of firearms, gun owners, or hunters. It’s a culture he doesn’t understand and has never made a single effort to understand it. He would be terrible on guns and every other issue we conservatives care about. Update: I hope this blog isn’t read in Jefferson County, Missouri. Looks like the sherrif there is part of the Obama “Truth Squad” and just might not agree with my assessment of the DNC’s statement about Obama’s support of the Second Amendment. I guess they want to kill the First and Second Amendments. I guess intimidation comes after lying. |
