Peterson Bails on Porkulus
|
House Republicans took the advice of Rush, WSJ, and many others (”even” George Will) and stood where Democrats can “take all of the credit” for the Porkulus. Minnesota’s Colin Peterson (D, MN-07) apparently decided he’d rather not take credit either, perhaps costing his district some pork. “Obama Porkulus Spending Plan 01/28 HR Yes Vote” For MN: Bachmann no, Ellison aye, Kline no, McCollum aye, Oberstar aye, Paulsen no, Peterson no, Walz aye. Democrats courageously voting No: Allen Boyd, FL, Bobby Bright, AL, Jim Cooper, TN, Brad Ellsworth, IN, Parker Griffith, AL, Paul Kanjorski, PA, Frank Kratovil Jr, MD, Walt Minnick, ID, Collin Peterson, MN, Heath Shuler, TN, Gene Taylor, MS. Worthy of some thanks, View Members by State and/or Write Your Representative. Perhaps needing some encouragement, View Senators by State and/or Contact Them. Some nice analysis and links at Allahpundit’s Blog. Let’s hope more People and their Senators will soon Read the Stimulus. Limbaugh and Boehner seem to be elegantly dividing both jobs of ideological lightning rod and legislative leader once performed by Gingrich. |

Yes, I think that was one of the ways where Gingrich was most effective. He spoke loudly and clearly about this sort of nonsense.
