SCHIP, MDH, MHIC, MN, ME, and GOP Betrayal

Dick Morris is uncharacteristically naive if he believes that Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Olympia Snowe (R-ME) sold out “their state and their supporters”, when they “sold out their party” to vote for the “Obama-Reid-Pelosi Porkulus” bill. We’ve seen the quid. Will the MSM find the quoes?

One quo may be surreptitious funding for Maine’s medical data industry.

I recently heard Twila Brase, President of Citizens’ Council on Health Care (CCHC) warn about the MDH Plan to Send MN Medical Data to Maine. CCHC posted this on Jan. 30, when the “Chief Administrative Law Judge” had generously set a Feb. 6 deadline for public comment. “The proposed [Minnesota Department of Health] rule, yet to be published, will require all reporters of data (insurers, etc.) to send private patient data to the [Maine Health Information Center]“.

I should probably dig a little harder than merely to Google “schip bill maine mhic”, but then I’m not a real journalist. Maybe a real journalist will dig a little harder.

Then we’d know what’s in it for “ME”.
